Caffè Nero is the largest Italian style coffee house brand in the UK, specialising in serving high-quality coffee in a relaxed informal setting.
Packaging Design
Still Water Packaging
Right Angle were commissioned to re-design Caffe Nero’s water packaging and other own-brand drink ranges. To clearly differentiate Nero ‘still’ and ‘sparkling’ mineral waters, we created distinctive magenta and yellow color-coded bands, changed the bottle caps and labels to light and dark blue and added bubbles to the ‘sparkling’ illustration.
Iced Drinks Packaging
We re-designed Caffè Nero’s plastic drinks cups to incorporate this ‘snowflake’ pattern, communicating to customers that their milkshakes, fruit juices and iced coffees are in fact ‘ICED DRINKS’ which need to be taken to the bar to be blended with ice.
Spring Water Packaging
There are 3 flavours in Caffè Nero’s Acqua di Frutta range, Elderflower & Lemon, Pink Grapefruit & Cranberry and Orange & Passion Fruit. We introduced the ‘Fruity Spring Water’ title to work in the UK market and handled the total re-branding project, from name generation and high-resolution photography to digital artwork.
Fruit Juice Packaging
For the Caffè Nero kid’s drinks range, we had our tongues firmly in our cheeks when we generated the brand name ‘Juice Fix’ and based our designs around the ‘Acid House’ music movement, creating a series of winking smiley faces. The introductory flavours for the range are ‘orange & mango’ and ‘strawberry & banana’.
