Degreasy already had an established network in the service, maintenance and repair industry and wanted to use the launch of the company to establish themselves as a premium service and potentially a market leader within the performance/racing bicycle community. The Degreasy team favoured a simple, modern and clean style of logo, and was keen to add a design element/icon within the typography.

Design 

The importance of standing out within this crowded market was key for Degreasy, who wanted a brand that was bold but subtle at the same time. Using a vibrant mid-range blue for the main colour allows the brand to appear in both negative and positive formats. The main ‘Degreasy’ text uses a custom-drawn san-serif font and the clever integration of a bespoke bicycle symbol as a replacement of the ‘g’ makes the ‘Degreasy’ brand instantly recognisable and relevant to the industry. When cycles are brought into the workshop, they are hung in a row by their front wheel along the walls. Animating the logo in a way relevant to the in-store process ensures the bicycle theme is solidified within the brand.

Deliver

The Degreasy team now have a strong and versatile brand which will help them challenge the market leaders and provide bicycle-related services to the counties of Hertfordshire and Essex. The flexibility of the logo ensures it will work effectively across all marketing materials and platforms including t-shirts, stickers, signage and any print collateral the business requires.
