Right Angle was commissioned to rationalise the Trovex brand. The existing logo, although understated and minimal, lacked dynamism and didn’t really have any brand mark or focus. The strapline was limited to only one part of the business and was styled in an odd way ‘MAKING IT. HYGIENIC.’ Also, the corporate colour banding was implemented inconsistently across the brand elements. 

The brief was very much about a brand refresh, not a total re-design, we needed to retain the existing minimal look and styling whilst exploring options to make it stronger and work harder for the business.    

Design

When rationalising the Trovex brand we looked at the whole brand hierarchy of the business to fully understand how the company operated and questioned whether the brand message and product offering was clear to potential customers. 

Our solution was to extend the right-hand side of the Trovex ‘v’ to form a recognisable tick – this then gave us the brand mark and focus which was previously lacking – The tick is now used across all of their marketing materials and has become known as the ‘Trovex tick of excellence’. 

We changed the strapline from TROVEX ‘MAKING IT. HYGIENIC.’ to ‘TROVEX INNOVATIONS’ this encapsulates the whole ethos of the company which is all about creating new products and changing the way people think about hygienic surfaces and washrooms 

The colour banding was rationalised to be a ratio of 1:30 and separate colour-coded bands were created for Hygienic and Washroom products.

Deliver

Since the brand rationalisation project, Right Angle has gone on to write a set of brand guidelines and implement the new branding across product compendiums, sample charts, magazine advertising, corporate stationery, direct mailshots as well as designing and building the 150-page Trovex website.
